Robertsville Firefighters had to work a heavy machinery fire in a concrete recycling yard. The piece of machinery was perched up high above one of the piles. Without hydrants our water tender and a mutual aid tender from Morganville Fire Department (3-95) Morganville Fire Department operated with Chief 2-66, Engine 2-74, Engine 2-75, Rescue 2-86, Tender 2-96 and Fire Police 2-98

Today, you can expect to see on-and-off scattered rain showers for most of the day. Rainfall rates could be heavy at times, with around 0.60 inches of rainfall forecast for today. The chance of rain is 80-90%. An isolated storm can’t be ruled out within any heavier activity during the late morning to early afternoon, but that chance is low between 5-10%. Winds are forecast to be out of the east-northeast to northeast between 10-15 mph sustained, with gusts between 20-30 mph through 9-10 PM, then gusts should decrease to 20-25 mph or less after that. High temperatures will be around 66F. Overcast skies and light rain are expected on Sunday night, with a 70-80% chance. Additional rainfall accumulations of about 0.37 inches are forecast. Low temperatures will be around 60F. Winds will become northeasterly, sustained at 5-15 mph and 20-25 mph gusts.

Expect rain to arrive in your area between 1-3am Saturday morning, and will continue through Monday evening. Total duration will be around 66 hours, though rainfall will not be totally continuous during that time. Total rainfall around 2-3 inches is expected across the general area, with locally higher amounts possible. Sustained winds 10-20 mph are expected from tonight through Sunday afternoon, with wind gusts 25-30 mph, and occasional gusts to 35 mph possible. Sunday night and Monday, winds will decrease to 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

This afternoon district 2 was requested for a motor vehicle accident. When Chief 266 arrived he found 2 vehicles that had collided head on. One vehicle was an electric vehicle and the other was a regular passenger vehicle. Upon arrival Rescue 2 and Rescue 274, were tasked to secure the vehicles and deem them safe. Fire Police Chief 298 assisted police with traffic control.
