About Us

The Robertsville Vol. Fire Company #1 is an all volunteer fire department serving the residents and businesses in Fire District #2 of Marlboro Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Our station is located at 94 County Route 520 in the Morganville section of town, between Tennent Road and Route 9. Our fire district includes two state highways (Route 18 & Route 9) and two public elementary schools.

We respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all kinds of emergencies. We answer calls for everything from fire alarm activations, building or house fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, smoke conditions, carbon monoxide incidents, and even those unique incidents where you just don't know who to call.

Your volunteer firefighters serve by utilizing five main pieces of firefighting apparatus as well as several other support vehicles. These include two pumpers, a heavy rescue truck, an aerial ladder truck, a water tanker (tender), a utility vehicle, a brush or wildland truck, and a multipurpose support vehicle.

Any person of the age of 18, who is a citizen of the United States, is of good moral character and resides within the limits of the Marlboro Township Fire District #2 boundaries may apply for membership. We also maintain a Junior Fire Program for residents age 16-17 who are interested in learning more about firefighting and fire safety.

Your volunteer firefighters train constantly in the latest techniques and strategies involved in fire incidents. Training continues throughout  the firefighters entire career through attendance at drills and training sessions.

It is often said that the pay stinks, but the rewards more than make up for it. There is no greater satisfaction than knowing you have helped someone in need - that you have made a difference in your community. RVFC participates in several Fire Prevention related events throughout the year. We hold an annual Fire Prevention Open House during Fire Prevention Week each October. We also fill requests by local public & private schools for on-site demonstrations or Fire Station Tours.

If you look to your right going from Main Street to Atlantic over the Little St Bridge, you'll see it. I'm 75. When I was young, we could swim under there. Walk the trestle too hoping no train came. The lake filled in tho so that part of lake Matawan is only small creek now. The kids used to jump off the Little St Bridge, (some more than once). Our presumed off the trestle.

Where’s exactly was this ? Hope everyone is okay !

Do we know what caused the fire yet? 💯%

Great work!

Good work. And thank you from a retired 29-2990. Also I grew up on the block near the tracks near lake. And I think it’s a shame it was left to be destroyed. I know that New Jersey transit owns it and they gave a fight when MONMOUTH county wanted to connect The Henry Hudson Trail.

In case you're not familiar with where in Matawan this occurred, use "42 Park Ave" as a reference on Google Maps, and look at the aerial view. The train trestle is just beyond the usable part of the Henry Hudson Trail where it ends at Stillwell St/Water St.

My moms house was about 500 ft up on 1st street and lake Blvd. thank goodness no wind 🌬️.

Good job
