This week is Fire Prevention Week, recognized across the United States as a time to focus on what sometimes gets forgotten throughout the year. FIRE SAFETY and PREVENTION.
Plan a dinner-time discussion with your family about different aspects of fire prevention and fire safety this week. In a life or death situation, a plan can save lives! Discuss: Working smoke alarms, smoke alarm location, evacuation plans, meeting locations, appliance safety, cooperation with firefighters, use and proper use of 9-1-1, stop/drop/roll, and when to recognize an emergency with your family.
